School & Community Outreach Programs & Partnerships

Meeting the needs of K-12 county and city schools in Western North Carolina.

UNC Asheville is committed to becoming the region’s higher education destination. We're dedicated to promoting and expanding educational opportunities and access to UNC Asheville to all, particularly those communities that have been traditionally underserved. The Office for Community and School Partnerships (OCSP) works in collaboration with UNC Asheville faculty, staff, students, regional educators and community leaders to create programs and initiatives to meet the needs of K-12 county and city schools within Western North Carolina.

UNC Asheville has more than 100 School and Community Outreach partners. We're proud to serve as a sponsor and higher education partner for Asheville City Schools Parent U, a new program that draws together Asheville City School parents, faculty, and staff along with institutions of higher education and community leaders to promote the social, emotional, and academic success of all Asheville City Schools students.

UNC Asheville offers a vibrant camp program for kids, numerous workshops for teachers and many events focused on promoting education. Our “Explore the Tour” program gives middle school students the chance to see themselves as part of our community and campus by participating in real-life college experiences.

A gift to UNC Asheville's school and community program efforts helps us make higher educational accessible to our community's next generation of aspiring leaders.
