With a lively presence on campus and in our community, The Center for Jewish Studies brings the people of the university and the community together intellectually, artistically and spiritually. The Center coordinates academic course offerings in Jewish Studies (religion, history, literature, classics and the arts), hosts visiting scholars and performing artists.
The Center for Jewish Studies at UNC Asheville is engaged in a wide range of projects on and off campus. It acquires materials of Jewish scholarly interest for Ramsey Library, supports the documentation of the ongoing story of Jewish life in Western North Carolina, assists UNC Asheville Hillel, encourages undergraduate research projects in Jewish Studies and hosts a regular series of lectures and performances by influential Jewish scholars, writers, filmmakers, musicians and artists.
The Center is able to offer such a broad scope of programming because of the generosity of donors. Your gifts will continue the enriching work of the Center for Jewish Studies.
