SAA Events
Bonding With A Bulldog
Bonding With A Bulldog is a part of our monthly alumni networking series. Through these events, students are given the opportunity to engage in an open forum and lecture with a UNC Asheville alumus/a from varying professional careers. The Student Alumni Association invites these prestigious alumni to come and share their college experience and real-world career knowledge to provide a potential road-map for current UNC Asheville students.
Turning of the Maples
SAA is proud to host one of UNC Asheville’s favorite traditions: Turning of the Maples. When the maple trees that line the sidewalks of the Quad turn brilliant colors in mid-October, the university community gathers to celebrate autumn in the mountains with cider, cookies, conversation, and fun.
Bulldog Connections
Bulldog Connections is our semi-annual alumni networking event, co-sponsored by the Career Center. Similar to our Bonding With A Bulldog series, Bulldog Connections is a larger networking event where we invite alumni back to campus to share their knowledge and expertise with aspiring students. Students are invited to join us in networking, exploring different career opportunities, and establishing real-world connections with some of UNC Asheville’s finest alumni.
First Day of Class Socials
The Student Alumni Association traditionally welcomes students back every semester for the first day of classes. Stop by and join us on The Quad for a cold scoop of alumni owned ice cream from The Hop on a sunny August afternoon or for hot chocolate, coffee, or cider on a chilly January morning.
Student Philanthropy Week
During Student Philanthropy Week, the Student Alumni Association educates the campus community on the importance of philanthropy and what it means to give back. Throughout the week, students across campus are invited to learn how philanthropic support impacts their UNC Asheville experience while seeing how their fundraising efforts can make a meaningful impact on their fellow students. From a Paws to Say Thank You event on the Quad to a special Bonding of the Bulldogs virtual event featuring alumni in non-profit careers, students have many opportunities to get involved. Learn more about the inaugural Student Philanthropy Week here: unca.edu/LendAPaw.
Philanthropy Phridays
Philanthropy Phridays are held each month to promote donor appreciation and educate students on how philanthropy impacts their UNC Asheville experience.
